- The BVCIL is a consumer-based, consumer-controlled, cross-disability, cross-cultural, non-residential, private nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to promote the full inclusion and participation of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of community life. We do this through peer support, advocacy, transition, independent living skills, and information and referral. Primarily volunteers assist in the independent living skills training via classes. Our classes are chosen based on consumer demand, outstanding needs and qualified facilitators. Volunteers can provide peer support in these classes, as well as have the opportunity to teach a skill.
