Description:

The Bridge Ministries offers those with a low income the opportunity to receive food once a month at our weekly food pantry. The Bridge also seeks to meet the needs of people at our free medical clinic where doctors and nurses volunteer their time and services to help those who cannot afford medical care. Another ministry we provide is a children's after school program called Sowers Initiative. It is a children's mentoring program aimed at encouraging and empowering children from impoverished families to do their best in everything they attempt. The Bridge also serves the community through multiple special projects, namely The Bridge of Blessings and Back to School Backpacks. The Bridge of Blessings is a Christmas program where families who have children under the age of 10 can submit the needs of their children so that volunteers can adopt that family and purchase the items to help meet those needs. The Back to School Backpacks is a program where The Bridge collects school supplies and monetary donations to purchase school supplies and backpacks for students who cannot afford the necessary school supplies. We are also starting another ministry for low income families who want to get their finances in order. We will hold a 6 week class called Faith and Finances to help initiate and encourage saving, budgeting, and good money stewardship habits. We will need students to help in leading these groups! Each of our ministries are open and welcome to student volunteers!

Our mission is to share Christ with others through serving those in need in the Brazos Valley and surrounding areas or wherever God leads and to Bridge the gap by joining churches and other groups in serving together. The Bridge Ministries seeks to meet the needs of the community through a food pantry, medical clinic, children's ministry, and other special projects.
