Opportunity Profile

General Information

Opportunity Name:
Middles & Teens/Adult Classes
Summary of Opportunity:
This spring we are excited to be offering 2 classes one is for middle age group of kids and the other for our teen/adults. These classes are both centered on making our students more independent and teaching them the skills in order for them to become better self-advocates. The middles class focuses on conversation skills, safety, initiation skills and body awareness. The adult/teens class will mainly focus on social skills, and skills to get our students ready for any job. Previously, our volunteers would be partnered one on one with the kids in classes, but since our classes are a bit different now, we are needing less volunteers but they will be playing amore vital role. They will be responsible to interacting with the student in Role Playing Scenarios and playing out the information learned in class.

Our classes will begin week of March 27th, and will be every Tuesday or Friday for 6 weeks ending on the first week of May.
Middles (Tuesdays 6:00-7:00 pm) Ages 8-14 - March 28th- May 2nd
Teens/Adults (Fridays 6:30 - 8:30 pm) Ages 15-25 - March 31st - May 5th
